Description: 150 yards east of the canal take the trail to the right. Possible used oil.

Admin: DTSC Imperial CUPA has created this as a complaint and investigated the site. The area that was described was a dumping ground for multiple different kinds of items but did not have the used oil as shown in the picture. Action is in process for being forwarded to the correct agency(ies) for clean-up.

Description: A Caltrans truck spraying vegetation along highway. Chemical leaked onto the road. Strong smell entered the bus that was consistent with smells from pesticides (weed killer).

Description: The BLM has a contract for aggregate reclamation with a local construction company. The contract was for aggregate reclamation only . The Heber based company has erected an asphalt plant without permits . The environmental impact report is over 8 years old . There are California Fish and Game sensitive areas around the plant and various protected types of wildlife. More dust from increased traffic to the site . More damage to county and state roads . More danger to citizens using public land . No studies of the workers health after 8 years of dust and CYANIDE exposure from the rock plant and mining contamination. Added danger from extra equipment, fuel, and large propane tank for asphalt production. Non of this was part of then contract awarded by the BLM 8 years ago .

Admin: DTSC Imperial CUPA staff conducted an inspection of the facility for the CUPA program on March 28, 2016.

Description: I was driving behind Arrons Furniture I noticed three containers full of car oil behind homes and vehicle and pedestrian walking area.

Admin: DTSC Imperial CUPA made this into a complaint and investigated. The oil was removed properly and disposed of at the HHW.

Description: I called APCD, at 11:40am, but the fire was active since 10:30am or prior! They were burning waste, lumber,tires , and a little green waste, but mostly even concrete slabs were in the pile, pipes , there was a backhoe that apparently just piled everything (multiple piles about 10 ft high which could only be done with backhoe , , there were multiple gas cans in the area. Republic Services Garbage Collection was monitoring fire, which is odd, because they can haul that waste to there landfill. APCD on the phone confirmed it was an illegal burn and assured someone would go out there, however it is unlikely. I saw different people at the site taking pictures of what they were burning but this observation was while i was on the phone with APCD, the pile only emitted black hazardous toxic smoke , not consistent with green waste!
