Address: 544 Stuerke Ct, Brawley, CA 92227, USA

Description: The new river is a highly polluted river that flows from near Cerro Prieto, through the city of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, into the United States through the city of Calexico, California, towards the Salton Sea.Today, the river flow is not natural, mostly consisting of agricultural runoff, municipal discharge and industrial dumping. The river has been referred to as the most severely polluted river of its size within the United States. The New River’s flow is composed of waste from agricultural and chemical runoff from the farm industry irrigation in the U.S. (18.4%) and Mexico (51.2%), sewage from Mexicali (29%), and manufacturing plants operating in Mexico (1.4%). However there is no gate stopping people from jumping into the new river, nowhere in the imperial valley is there a sign that warns citizens from staying out of the river. This image shown was taken just off the side a park here in the Imperial Valley. The park where this picture was taken is called Pat Williams.

Abandoned houses in brawley

Status: In Progress

Date: Friday 31 March 2017 9:03 AM

Address: 4951 Best Rd, Brawley, CA 92227, USA

Description: These homes are located in the Far East side of brawley near highway 1-11. This area was a project that was abandoned due to permits not going through. This project was not continued and was vandalized throughout the years and as you can see in the pictures there are broken windows, broken doors, and graffiti everywhere you look. This solid waste area produces the risk of pollution of the environment, disease, crimes, and other illegal activities. On everyday bases people come here to vandalize and do things they are not supposed to which makes this area look so horrible and dangerous. I obtained pictures with permission from Sheriff Fowler to enter this barricaded area otherwise it is illegal to be there and you can get arrested for trespassing.

Illegal Trash Dumping in Alley

Status: Resolved

Date: Friday 31 March 2017 7:11 AM

Address: 546 W Cady Rd, Brawley, CA 92227, USA

Description: In the alley of Driftwood Place in Brawley California there had been trash left in the alley. It would not be good for the environment later because for one there are many animals in the neighborhood. The animals do eat the trash there and can cause health problems and death. The stench was awful and there is natural runoff occurring especially with the constant change of weather the imperial valley has been going through. The urinails and mattes contain much mildew around them which is causing many bugs and smell. Overall, the alley of Driftwood Place is a hortendons sight and smell to have occurring in the valley.
