Hazy Sky / Poor Air Quality

Description: Today's current Air Quality Index level is listed as "unhealthy" on the Imperial County Air Quality Control Board website. Indeed, as I left my home in El Centro to go grocery shopping, I quickly noticed a hazy sky and dust enveloping my surroundings. On my way back home, I noticed that the majority of wind blown dust came from the dirt roads on an agricultural plot east of the Cardenas grocery store. The wind blown dust I noticed, originated from an agricultural field located on the corner of LaBrucherie and Lincoln Ave. This must be a common occurrence -- perhaps the dirt road should be minimized, paved, or regulated? There is a school playground and neighborhoods nearby and I can only imagine the role it plays in their lives of students when playing outdoors on days like today. Perhaps this nearby school (MLK Elementary School) ought to participate in an air quality flag program?
Wind Blown Plastic Trash

Description: Today was an especially wind day in El Centro. Trash was strewn about in town and the Cardenas grocery store had a high concentration of plastic bags and mixed trash accumulated by the entrance. This is an ongoing problem, but more noticeable on windy days like today. Since it is easily wind blow it can easily end up miles away -- on the road, and in bodies of water.
Dirty Drain

Description: This drain is extremely dirty due to the garbage that has been thrown in the drain, the water is a greenish color and it has a very foul smell.
Wind turbine oil leak

Description: Fresh oil leaking on desert floor. Pattern Energy just completed an oil clean up of the turbines. Of course all of them were not cleaned. This oil is fresh, because it is shiny. Old oil will have a dark appearance from dust, which by the way is another problem. Just think, only another 26 years to go. Maybe the whole site will be black by then?

Description: These are some pictures of abandoned house here in Brawley,Ca. These houses are close by highway 111. As you can see these houses are broken and destroyed. The houses are full of graffiti. Some of these houses windows are broken. The inside of the houses doors are broken as well as some mirrors. This is a waste of a house because a lot of people are suffering outside in this weather without a house or a roof on top on them. This can somewhat bother people cause they don't like seeing this.
