Description
Best Canal by the Brawley airport is contaminated with plastic water bottles that field workers throw away, and hay from the fields surrounding it. This affects the lives of fishes and turtles that live in canals, and the need to use this water in important occasions.

04/04/2017: The DTSC Imperial CUPA has this complaint to the IID.
04/04/2017: The IID Water Department will look into this complaint.
04/14/2017: The waste at the Best Canal and the Stahl Drain is predominately made of up dried “tules” and solid waste such as Styrofoam cups with Circle K and 7-11 logos. Every time the wind blows, it generates this problem. There was no regulated waste observed at either site. IID Water Department has all the canals and drains on a regular maintenance and cleaning schedule. Checking the schedule for these two sites they should be cleaned no later than within the next two or three weeks.
