Although pesticides are essential for agriculture here in Brawley ,Pesticides that are not carefully contained can cause contamination within your surrounding and can put your health at risk .If you were to work in a field were pesticides are being used make sure to wear the appropriate clothing and shoes,if contaminated shoes are brought home it would be safer if kept outside.Pesticides can also affect your health such as you lungs if inhaled or other vital organs if consumed.

07/18/2017: Ag Commissioner's Office - In the Pesticide Use Enforcement division of the Agricultural Commissioner’s office, we are devoted to just these types of issues. We enforce the laws and regulations pertaining to pesticide use in Imperial County. This includes responding to complaints of misuse, violations of Personal Protective Equipment, and ensuring that agricultural workers are following other safety precautions prescribed by the product label and regulation to prevent injury. We would encourage anyone that would like to know more about laws and regulations pertaining to pesticide use or that would like to report a misuse of pesticides to contact our office at 442-265-1500.
