Description:
East of Calipatria multiple large areas of brush caught fire and kept burning 24-26 hours long. Large plumes of black smoke erupted when a building caught fire as well around 12:30 PM on Saturday, March 25-26, 2017.
Administrator Comment: 04/04/2017: The DTSC Imperial CUPA has forwarded this complaint to APCD. 04/04/2017: From APCD-For the 791 report, we are waiting on the County Fire Department to provide us with a copy of their report. It looks like there was a brush fire that took place on BLM land nearby a couple of orchard fields to the east of Calipatria. We are not sure how it got started as we were unaware of the burn. My understanding is that County Fire put out the fire but BLM is conducting an investigation.
