This place is a known contaminated site/DTSC SIGN posted on fence/last year around summer time saw a CleanHarbors Truck at the location , Location previously owned by Unocal/PureGro later Crop Productions Services as a child in the late 80s living close to this place experienced ammonia and irritating of the eyes and nose breathing This place shut down and the place became known as a wasteland , intervening were Regional Water Quality Control Board and DTSC. My concern now is that the city of Brawley issued a public notice that i happen to stumble upon weeks later. About making it a mobile home park for disadvantaged families / low income families adjacent to this property. If the health concerns were high in the 80s , and people still coming to this site about every 3 months to check on it wearing tyveks and mask. Should this be permitted to happen to have people living next to this facility which when its windy blows wind in that direction. and its also located as you can see other industrial facility in the background. This facility used to use DDT and Known pesticides that have since been banned but were disposed of and contaminated soil and ground water. The property where they plan to build was also used as a pond for their waste along with the properties across the street which have since been developed into tract homes. LOCATION IS RIVER DRIVE AND CESAR CHAVEZ AVE Across the street from this site was an IID substation that had regulators and transformers and with the recent violation PCBs this is a concern for nearby residents. since this substation was also removed at about the same time as the one adjacent to the Phil Swing School site in Brawley and cables are still buried in property.
