Description
On October 25, 2014 I was driving north on Austin Road between Aten and Worthington when I saw a huge fire burning a field. This angered me because I live only one mile away from this location; which means that now the air I will be breathing will be full of pesticides and smoke. Not only is this air harmful to me, but it is harmful to my family, my neighbors, and overall the Imperial Valley. According to the EPA smoke contains very fine particles, gases, and other products of burning that are inhaled deeply into the lungs. I am concerned about this because around my neighborhood I always see children and elderly people walking. These particular individuals are at risk for respiratory problems. I am asking that this be taken more seriously because it can cause lives.
