A lightpole has reportedly fallen onto Highway 111 near McCabe Road, the CHP incident Web site has reported. Caltrans has been notified. The light is obstructing the righthand side of the southbound lanes.

The California highway Patrol is reporting zero visibility because of rain on Highway 78 near Glamis.

Rain has also flooded and forced the closure of Ogilby Road north of Interstate 8, the CHP has reported.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the county, and is expected to impact the cities of Brawley, Calexico and El Centro.
High winds in excess of 60 mph are expected in the area as well as dust storms. The thunderstorm warning is in effect until 7:15 p.m. while the dust storm warnig is in effect until 8 p.m.
