Big agricultural burn.

Administrator Comment: APCD Response: The morning of Tuesday, June 6, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., an Air Pollution Control Inspector observed smoke plumes deriving from Clark Rd. and Ralph Rd. in Imperial, CA. Upon arrival, the Inspector identified a large haystack fire with approximately 100 continuous hay bales. Smoke was impacting the residential and industrial zoned northeast area of Imperial, CA. Imperial County Fire Department was actively applying water to the fire, creating fire breaks, and mitigating smoke from the burn. Imperial Irrigation District Office of Emergency was also responded immediately (see photo attached). The Imperial County APC Inspector revisited the source at 2:00 p.m., and smoke impacts were minimal to nearby sensitive receptors. In the future, the reporting party is encouraged to report air quality complaints to Imperial County APCD’s Office at (442) 265-1800 or visit the website at apcd.imperialcounty.org. This concluded the ICAPCD’s investigation into smoke near Clark Rd. and Ralph Rd on June 6, 2024.
