This was an approved burn of a field located SW of the school and its closest perimeter was well over half a mile away from school. It was a special burn and an inspector was there present to conduct test burn and ensure smoke was traveling away from the school. Wind direction was from the NNW ensuring that smoke traveled away from the township of Niland. Inspector stayed there throughout the burn and at no point did the smoke traveled towards the school.
